Architecture appears for the first time when the sunlight hits a wall.
The sunlight did not know what it was before it hit a wall.
The sunlight did not know what it was before it hit a wall.

Concrete is where it began for me, and I'm sure it is where it will end. Concrete is my favorite material, and it is what I began creating jewelry with. Specifically white portland cement. I chose to create Jewelry for my architectural thesis project during grad school at the University of South Florida in Tampa. I used the same programs and digital fabrication process that I use now, and that hasn't changed. I was lucky to have a Thesis chair adviser that embraced a unique viewpoint on architecture and supported my approach. I see my jewelry as architecture, first and foremost. I wouldn't change anything about that year, and for me it was the beginning of the rest of my life. That whole year was magical to me, and I have to admit, I did not want to start working in architecture after that. But I knew I had to.

Metal is the medium I work with these days, but one day I will venture back into concrete, and I know it will be badass. For now, I'm sure I will find every concrete wall and object I can to photograph with as my backdrop. Until we meet again.

Lastly, let me just say that I love these pants. I saw these pants at Zara in New York's Soho store. They didn't have my size and I proceeded to walk across New York to find them at three other stores. And failed. Then I just ended up just ordering them online haha. Let's just say I got them in New York.
